Testimonials

Jerry Lee, Owner
Canaan Stone Works, Leavenworth, KS

A customer stopped in one day and asked me if I would work on a material called EnviroSLAB, a recycled glass countertop in an epoxy resin. I had never worked with it and was a little concerned. I didn’t know what reaction I would get from my tools. We have state of the art CNC equipment and I was concerned relative to the wear and tear on equipment and tooling, which is very expensive. I was assured that the product would not put undue wear and tear on my equipment or tooling.

The bottom line – EnviroSLAB reacts the same way as engineered stone. It’s relatively flexible, so there’s no breakage or chipping like there sometimes is with granite. I use the same tools as I do with granite or engineered stone, and was able to get the same polished edge. I had no trouble matching seams either. They are hardly visible. Overall, EnviroSLAB is very easy to work with and I was really impressed with how it looked once we got it installed. I’d be happy to talk with other fabricators to ease their concerns about installing this product.

Lisa Martin, Arlington, Texas
Proud owner of the very first EnviroSLAB ever made

Our EnviroSLAB countertops are remarkably resistant to everyday use and abuse. They look as good today as they did when they were installed a year-and-a-half ago. Before learning about EnviroGLAS, I thought granite was the best option for durable countertops. But the EnviroGLAS is just as tough. It’s such a relief not to have to baby our countertops! And who says something beautiful can’t be as tough as nails? Our EnviroSLAB countertops literally look like art, and their durability makes them an everyday pleasure to use.

As far as maintenance goes, we don’t do a thing! To our eyes, the countertops look the same as they did when they were installed. We clean them with standard cleaning products like Fantastic or Formula 409 — and honestly that’s it! Our countertops are dark brown, and I can't see that they’ve faded in the least either, even though on occasion they’ve come into contact with a bleach-based cleaning product.

While natural stones like granite, marble and travertine have always been prized for their natural beauty, they seem to have fallen from favor by unconventional consumers in search of a unique, innovative and durable solution for countertop and flooring applications. In our showroom we offer the EnviroGLAS product line which consists of slabs for countertop and table top surfaces as well as flooring in a plank module.

The response by our clients has been phenomenal! They love EnviroGLAS’s ‘green’ characteristics, the low maintenance factor (no sealing is required after installation) and the specifying possibilities of aggregate and color combinations. We cater to residential and commercial design professionals who require a broad range of creative expression when working with materials and who believe they have seen it all.

However when we introduce and educate these sophisticated clients on the EnviroGLAS product, they are amazed with the innovative technology behind the resin (particularly the translucent matrix), its durability and unmatched beauty. We always ask why they prefer this ‘look and feel’ instead of the natural stone, and invariably everyone gives the same answer – natural stones have become ‘predictable’ and thus a bit boring. It is always nice to see our clients’ faces light up and sense visions of exciting interiors dancing across their eyes when they see the EnviroGLAS products. Also from a production standpoint, the EnviroGLAS team has been great about producing samples on demand and turning around custom orders in a reasonable timeframe, which is setting a precedent in its sector.

I really like EnviroGLAS Terrazzo because once it’s in, I know it’s going to be there forever, looking great,” says Michael Kawecki, Project Manager and LEED Accredited Professional for the City of Dallas. Dallas’s recently completed Hensley Field Operations Center features EnviroGLAS Terrazzo. Kawecki says marble terrazzo long has been known for its durability and low maintenance requirements, two key sustainability factors. “But,” he adds, “I prefer using EnviroGLAS Terrazzo over typical marble terrazzo since the source materials are readily available locally, and it helps offset the amount of glass being sent to our landfills.

Happy Homeowner

I wanted to let you know that our EnviroGLAS countertop was installed this week and we are SO happy with it! The countertop looks amazing, and the fabricator that installed it said it was much easier to work with than granite (and lighter, too!). Apparently it caused quite a stir at the fab shop, when the guys were leaving in the evening, they noticed a set of sheets glowing (EnviroGlo). It is now in my daughters’ bathroom and is absolutely magical at night.

Delighted with EnviroSCAPE in her backyard

In 1993, I left my position as a Senior Buyer with the Walt Disney Company. Among my responsibilities was the procurement of recycled and environmentally friendly products. Now, I’ve started my own company, Adapt Ad Specialty, specializing in products made from recycled, organic and environmentally friendly materials. I implement programs for companies and government agencies where they incorporate such products. My standard has always been to sell or represent products I myself would use.

In April 2008, I decided to redo my backyard and had heard and read about EnviroGLAS landscape aggregate. I thought this would be a great way to incorporate a water feature into my yard without increasing my water use. Living in a drought area, Californians are always reminded to cut use. This year, it become mandatory that one could only water two days a week, or there would be penalties. The addition of the glass river, in conjunction with the low water use fountain, has given the visual and audio I was looking for, without penalty! I’ve added solar tikis, whimsical sculptures and drought tolerant plants. I now have my own Eco Paradise.
